Raisa was raised by her parents in Los Angeles, California. Irlanda Almendarez is her sister, as are Italia Almendarez. Her initial name, Francia, is Italian meaning France. Italia is Italia, the Italian name for Italy is also Irlanda. Virginia Almendarez's mom is Mexican and Renan Almendarez is from Honduras.
